day 236: traveltown

We celebrated Kristy & Steven's birthday party at Traveltown. I was about an 1.5 hours late, because I didn't think it was so early in the morning. Traveltown is amazing. They so many locomotive engines. It's so cool! This is grandma showing Steven how to feed Kristy's baby.

day 222: @MsHerr #my4th29th

My friend, @MsHerr, drove to LA today, by way of Sedona, to celebrate her birthday and continue he quest to watch all Focus Features films. We went to Sweet Lady Jane for some delicious birthday cake and made our way back to my apt to have some birthday drinks, but not before overhearing...

day 215: Somebody to Love

Surrounded by friends and family Vanessa was very surprised by the elaborate plan that Alex planned for her birthday. Vanessa's mom and brother flew in, Porto's bakery catered and cherry bombs were the drink of choice. As the night wound down (or started up) Angela's karaoke mic brought out all the singing voices.

Happy Birthday, Vanessa!

day 214: golden gopher

We celebrated Ceci's birthday, but this picture of the patio is the only one I took. Fish and I showed up early and enjoyed the happy hour specials and crowd. In the spirit of the comedy duo, Laurel and Hardy, the two gentlemen to the left kept us entertained until our party arrived.

day 201: Henry & Rod's Surprise Party

A couple of weeks ago, Chadonna and I were talking about my and Henry's trip to the Getty on Saturday night with Cut Chemist. We realized that Henry and Rod did not celebrate their birthdays. How very Cancer of them, so we took it upon ourselves to throw them a surprise party. If we botched this surprise we would be the worse party planners ever, because it was nearly a month after Henry's birthday and two weeks after Rod's.

It went off without a hitch. We enjoyed a beautiful evening amongst a few close friends and music. We picnicked and drank 'juice.' Rod & Henry were both surprised. Happy belated Birthday, Rod & Henry!

Here are more pictures from that day.

day 146: Tommy

We celebrated Tommy's birthday in Los Angeles. What happens in the PDT stays in the PDT, and I'll leave it at that.

day 139: Karaoke

I will post another picture from Carla's party, technically these were taken on Sunday. We continued the party into the wee hours of the morning with Karaoke. Of course, I sang a rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart. Look how into it I am. (?) hahaha

And the high score of the night? was it Eric's: Stairway to Heaven? Angie's: Angie? Bernadette's: Blue Bayou? no, the high score went to... wait for it.... Doug! he sang Groovy Kinda Love.

After Friday's trip to Solvang and sitting in the sun all day, I came home and crashed at 5pm. Today, I woke up at 6am, went for a swim and a hike. After my hike I went to help Carla prepare for her BarBQ. I was asked to be in charge of entertainment, so I had a photo booth and asked Angela to bring her Karaoke mic. These are some of the images from the photo booth. There are over 200 images and I still need to proof them before I publish them. It will take me a couple of days, but here's a sample. Thanks to everyone who participated, and a special thanks to Carla for hosting such a wonderful party. Happy Birthday!

More photos are available here.

day 131: space 15 twenty

My gay husband, Nicholas, turned 30 on May 24th, but celebrated his birthday on the 30th. The tag line for his party was: its the TRIFECTA! may 30th . 30 years old . 30 inch waist. To celebrate I brought along my gay boyfriend, Ritch. Whose eye do you think this is?

day 116: happy birthday mom

Today is my mom's birthday! yeaaay! I called her and wished her a happy birthday. These flowers were heart shaped so I thought it was appropriate.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

day 062: Bar-B-Q

The last of the Pisces birthdays has come, we celebrated Adrian's birthday on Saturday night/Sunday morning. As always Sandy and Adrian had a wonderful selection of food and drinks. We talked, played Cranium, poker and partied in to the early morning.

Happy Birthday, Adrian!

day 056: cupcakes

I remembered that Bianca gave me two cupcakes yesterday, and they are beautiful, but don't show the creativity & concept of the whole collection. I can't believe I didn't take a picture. This afternoon I enjoyed one with a green tea Mochi.

I'm sure if you wanted, she would make cupcakes for your next party.

day 055: sunny days sweeping the clouds away

on my way to where the air is sweet...
Today was a beautiful day in Los Angeles. This morning, I had plans to join Sandy, Adrian, Valerie and Mallory at the Farmer's Market in Santa Monica/Venice. And I ended up going to the wrong Farmer's Market. hahaha... only me, I know. By the time I found the correct Farmer's Market, it was closing up, so I raced around for some fresh beets. mmmmm We walked Venice Boardwalk, and I was freaking hot because I layered up. It was a beautiful day to be at the beach.

Then I raced over to the La Brea Tar Pits to celebrate with Bianca and friends. I have so many Piscean friends, I love it. This park is perfect for a picnic and hanging out with friends. Lunch was a wonderful assortment of pasta, Roscoe's Chicken, spring rolls, pita/hummus, cuties, brownies, igloo shaped cupcakes and ice cold orangina. Kids provided entertainment, parties are always better with kids. :) Happy Birthday, Bianca.

We're coming to the end of Pisces, but I'm still celebrating birthdays. Last night we celebrated Jamie's Birthday at Club Menage and Mi Piace in Pasadena. You know I'm a good friend, when I drive 30 minutes out of LA to go to a dance club. Happy Birthday, Jamie! There were more group pictures, but I love this one. :)

day 037: thai town

Irene couldn't make it to Karaoke, wait... I mean Irene made it to Karaoke, but couldn't find the room that we were in. I felt so bad when I saw all the messages on my phone the next day.

On Monday, she called and invited me for dinner tonight. We went to Thai Town, and for the life of me, I don't remember the name of the restaurant. It was delicious though, especially after a 3 hour workout today. I, of course, forgot to take a picture while we were there. On the way back I was being a total tourist taking pictures of all the tourist-y places on Hollywood Blvd. and Sunset Blvd. In the end, I opted for this picture of Irene. We were at the intersection of Sunset & La Cienega. You can see Los Angeles in the background.

day 035: The gift & 34 km

Since I've been laid-off I've been trimming the excess fat off of my bills, and that meant my gym membership. :( It's ironic to think that at a time where I have so much time to go to the gym I can't, because of the sacrifice. Well one of my birthday gifts was two months of my gym membership. This is the best gift. I love it and love my friend, Fish, for doing this for me.

My birthday has been a three day celebration, and I love it. It's also been three days of dehydration, so I've been trying to keep up with replenishing my body. I woke up kinda late this morning. Went to the gym late, but was pleasantly surprised by the hot trainer. He kept me on the treadmill for 40min and at the gym for an hour and a half, and he's not even my trainer. He's just good eye candy. hahaha

The gym was followed by an enjoyable lunch with two phenomenal women where I remembered that back in December I made a goal that I would ride 34km on my birthday. So I rushed home, checked the pressure in my tires, filled my water bottles and went out for a ride along the beach. It was so beautiful, but I haven't been on my bike since I got sick right before Thanksgiving, and this coupled with the gym: my legs feel like jelly. I'm gonna sleep like a baby tonight, but for now, I have to prep for dinner. :)

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING MY BIRTHDAY EXTRA SPECIAL THIS YEAR!!!

day 033: Any Man of Mine & Seis Leches

I love Karaoke, and I love celebrating my birthday, because then I can make my friends sing Karaoke. :) Nate and I are so fortunate to have birthdays one day apart. The fact that we have the same friends, it makes for a huge celebration. It was a crazy mixture of hip-hop, rap, 80's, love ballads, and heavy metal. I had a wonderful time, but forgot my camera!!! :O Oh well, everything happens for a reason, and everyone is probably happy that I forgot it. ;) Thank you to everyone, the potluck was delicious and we had more main dishes than sides, which never happens with potlucks, so THANK YOU!!! AMAZINGLY we had two Tres Leches cakes...so it was Seis Leches...mmm delicious. I still have the "Pru" slice in my fridge. I think I'll enjoy it for lunch. :) muah xoxoxo

songs were:
American Boy
Peaceful easy feeling
Total Eclipse of the Heart
Blue Bayou
Summer Lovin
Sweet Child o mine
Any Man of Mine
A Little Less Conversation

Please help me... :)
