I went for a hike in the Audubon at Debs Park. It's down the hill, and while the vegetation is all but dry, it's still a beautiful park in the Santa Monica Mountains. I was hoping to find an entrance that was not at the bottom of the hill, but I ended up walking down the hill on the street, hiking in the park, back down and once more up the street to the house. I don't think I'll do that again. :)
The picture above has nothing to do with this post, other than, I got lost in Echo Park today trying to get back to Mt. Washington. That's typical me though, I will try something new, but never prepare for it. I was trying to avoid the freeways during rush hour.-----------------------------------------------

These are the two cats I'm looking after: Dax and Cordoba. Dax is super sweet. He's been a little under the weather that's why he looks super skinny. Cordoba is a little skiddish, so it's gonna take a little more TLC for her to warm up to me.
The picture above is Dax lounging on the couch. He's owning it. hahah
This is Cordoba trying to blend into the sculpture. :)

We had lunch at Lamonica's in Westwood coupled with a milkshake from Fatburger. In an effort to kill a few hours and a few calories, we headed to Beverly Hills to see the Prada store and Greystone Mansion. After strolling around Beverly Hills, we spent an hour in traffic to see Cut Chemist DJ a beautiful evening at the Getty Museum.

Today was a full day of events. Ken and I went for a hike in Will Rogers State Park followed by a quick trip to the Getty Villa. We then drove along the coast on the PCH to Malibu for the Madden 10 launch party. It was the 1st annual Pro-am flag foot ball game. It was absolutely amazing. With my love of sports (esp NFL) I was in heaven! With talent such as John Elway (yes, John freaking Elway), Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Junior Seau, Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Tony Gonazales, Damarcus Ware, Larry Fitzgerald, Willie Parker, it was amazing to watch them play football.
The celebrities on the roster were Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillon, Brody Jenner, Sam Trammell, Jason Patrick, Josh Henderson, Adrian Pasdar, Kelly Rowland, Maria Menenous, Brooke Burke, Alison Sweeney, Jesse McCartney, Donald Faison, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar (yes, ZACH freaking MORRIS)
Rich Eisner & Rod Woodson commentated. It will air on ESPN2 on Aug 14.
Joe Montana talking to Jerry Rice

The above picture is not one that Ken or I took. It's from Brooke Burke's collection, but it's a great pic of Elway. ;)
Thanks to Ken for taking all of these pix, my camera and cell were both dead. :(

Very interesting to see who your friends are!
(10-16 points) You are Garfield :
You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to have
fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You always know what you are
doing and you are always in control of your life. Others may not see
things as you do, but that doesn't mean that you always have to do what is right.
Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you or others.
(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:
You are fun; you are very cool and popular. You always know what's in and
you ' re never out of style , you are good at knowing how to satisfy
everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few days more than once
but you always come home with the family values that you learned Being
married and having children are important to you, but only after you have
had your share of fun times
(24-28 points) You are Elmo:
You have lots of friends and you are also popular, always willing to give
advice and help out a person in need. You are very optimistic and you
always see the bright side of things. Some good advice:try not to be too
much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many conflicts in your
life.
(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants. You are the classic person
that everyone loves. You are the best friend that anyone could ever have
and never wants to lose. You never cause harm to anyone and they would
never not understand your feelings. Life is a journey, it's funny and calm
for the most part stay away from traitors and jealous people and you will
be stress free....
(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:
You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you are also very serious
about all relationships. You are a family person. You call your Mom every
Sunday. You have many friends and may occasionally forget a few Birthdays.
Don't let your passion confuse you with reality.
(44-50 points ) You are Dexter:
You are smart and definitely a thinker.... Every situation is fronted with
a plan.. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate very strong family
principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a bad situation
when it comes Try to do less over thinking every once in a while to spice
things up a bit with spontaneity!
Now don't spoil it! Have some Fun!! Change the subject of the note and tag your friends.
I started out like many of you: I drank Celestial Seasonings herbal teas. As I delve deeper into tea culture, I've found an entire world of tea apart from herbal tea. If you would like more information about tea, visit these pages:
On Tuesday, I went to a Japanese sencha green tea tasting at Lupicia in Century City. There are three main types of green tea produced in Japan: sencha which is unshaded, gyokuro which is shaded, and matcha which is shaded and then powdered. A few things you should know about green tea are: temperature & steep time are very important. A bitter tea can be rendered if you don't prepare it correctly. Sencha is bright in color with a clean finish and a taste somewhat reminiscent of seaweed.
We started out with an Kawane Yuuki 2009, which is an organic tea, it was very light both in color and in taste. We then moved on to Miyazaki Sakimidori 2009, it was crisp and smooth. (I thought it was great for the price and the taste) The third tea was Uji Yabukita 2009, Uji is a region known for the tea. Charles, our tea master/brewer, told us Uji to tea is the same as Bordeaux to wine. The fourth steep was Omaezaki Yabukita 2009, I didn't take any notes on it. I guess that speaks for itself. The Chiran Yutakamirdori 2009, it's was also a light-flavored sencha out of the Chiran district in Japan. The last tea was a Yame Hoshino Himemidori 2009, out of the Yame tea district in Japan. Yame, Fukuoka is notable after Uji, Kyoto. It was the most expensive and full-bodied tea. I would highly recommend this tea if it's within your budget.
Now I'm still learning about tea. I hope that the information presented here is some what accurate.
Last week, I won tickets to see Coldplay at a secret location. I found out on Friday that the secret location was Capitol Records in Hollywood. Chris and I sat in Studio A and listened to Coldplay perform a few songs. With only ~100 people in attendance it was like our private concert. Chris Martin's voice is amazing, and his rendition of Billie Jean revved up the audience.Although we couldn't take our cell phones or cameras inside, I was able to snap this photo outside with my crappy cell phone. Chris took more pictures. When he sends them I will add to this post. It was an a-mazing night.
Celebrities in attendance: Kennedy and Seth Green
Chris, thank you. You are an amazing person and if anyone in the restaurant thought we were breaking up, because I was crying. They would soon realize I was the crazy person, because you're an amazing person and who would break up with you. Thank you for being source of support for me in this difficult time.

These cream puffs were left over from our sweet binging last night, and I had them for breakfast. [High five the 8-year-old version of myself]
This month has been so stressful. I didn't take a pic this day, so I had to pull one from another day. This was taken up on Sunset Blvd. It's the facade of a building and each of the posts has a light. It should be cool once the building is complete.
UPDATE 07.20.2009
Curbed LA has a post with more info on this building: West Hollywood's New Flare Just Pretty, Not Selling Anything
On twitter, I found out there was a Sunset Strip pubcrawl. (#stripcrawl) It included The Andaz Hotel, The Comedy Store, The Viper Room, The Roxy. For the first part of it my roommate joined me, and for the second half, Chadonna joined. At each location, they handed out buttons and that was the access into the club/bar where drink specials awaited. It was very successful, in part because I've never been to the Viper Room or the Roxy and, because I won Coldplay tickets! I can't wait. The concert is in a week.
One, I've always had a roommate and every time I proposed the idea, it was shot down. And two, I was not sure another layout would work. Well I measured all the furniture and decided to go ahead and do it. The result: I'm very pleased with my new layout. You should come over and check it out.

I really wish I could make-do without a cell phone. Today, I received a txt msg from my roommate saying that my phone is not working. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Verizon. They were testing & re-testing, asking me to punch in numbers and at the end of it they said my phone was the culprit.
One of my friends then sent me an email that said there was an outage in the area. It's a f-ed up strategy to not tell that there's an outage and try to get me to buy another phone.
I wish I had an iPhone, but then I would have AT&T. It's a no win situation.
Today is a crazy day in Los Angeles. The 101 freeway was shut down for the Michael Jackson Memorial and all of the crowds that were to descend on downtown didn't happen. I did try for Michael Jackson tickets, but wasn't selected. LA has turned into Michael mania. What was vendors selling Lakers Championship gear is now Michael Jackson memorabilia.Thank you, Michael, for my childhood, thriller and all of your wonderful music.
