Surrounded by friends and family Vanessa was very surprised by the elaborate plan that Alex planned for her birthday. Vanessa's mom and brother flew in, Porto's bakery catered and cherry bombs were the drink of choice. As the night wound down (or started up) Angela's karaoke mic brought out all the singing voices.Happy Birthday, Vanessa!

We celebrated Ceci's birthday, but this picture of the patio is the only one I took. Fish and I showed up early and enjoyed the happy hour specials and crowd. In the spirit of the comedy duo, Laurel and Hardy, the two gentlemen to the left kept us entertained until our party arrived.
A couple of weeks ago, Chadonna and I were talking about my and Henry's trip to the Getty on Saturday night with Cut Chemist. We realized that Henry and Rod did not celebrate their birthdays. How very Cancer of them, so we took it upon ourselves to throw them a surprise party. If we botched this surprise we would be the worse party planners ever, because it was nearly a month after Henry's birthday and two weeks after Rod's.
It went off without a hitch. We enjoyed a beautiful evening amongst a few close friends and music. We picnicked and drank 'juice.' Rod & Henry were both surprised. Happy belated Birthday, Rod & Henry!

Since I'm unemployed I decided that : I'm going to the Lakers' Parade. It's been 7 years since they won, and for what ever reason I didn't go to that parade, but this time I'm going. It was awesome! After the crazy riots that happened on Saturday (idiots) I took public transportation down to the Colosseum. No need for my car to be set on fire. Alas, there were no riots or fires. It was a beautiful sunny day and the streets were filled with purple and gold. Absolutely Amazing! YEAAAY!!
THE LAKERS WON THE 2009 NBA CHAMPIONSHIPS! Carla, Nicole and I went to Busby's in Santa Monica to celebrate and then at La Grande Orange.Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, but my camera battery was dead from Tommy's party.
I will post another picture from Carla's party, technically these were taken on Sunday. We continued the party into the wee hours of the morning with Karaoke. Of course, I sang a rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart. Look how into it I am. (?) hahahaAnd the high score of the night? was it Eric's: Stairway to Heaven? Angie's: Angie? Bernadette's: Blue Bayou? no, the high score went to... wait for it.... Doug! he sang Groovy Kinda Love.

jamie & angieAfter Friday's trip to Solvang and sitting in the sun all day, I came home and crashed at 5pm. Today, I woke up at 6am, went for a swim and a hike. After my hike I went to help Carla prepare for her BarBQ. I was asked to be in charge of entertainment, so I had a photo booth and asked Angela to bring her Karaoke mic. These are some of the images from the photo booth. There are over 200 images and I still need to proof them before I publish them. It will take me a couple of days, but here's a sample. My gay husband, Nicholas, turned 30 on May 24th, but celebrated his birthday on the 30th. The tag line for his party was: its the TRIFECTA! may 30th . 30 years old . 30 inch waist. To celebrate I brought along my gay boyfriend, Ritch. Whose eye do you think this is?
We (Chadonna, Ken, Angela and Ritch) went back to Busby's to watch game 7 of the Lakers/Rockets Series. I still love this place. I'm so happy that the Lakers won. Bring on the Nuggets!For the Magic/Celtics game we went to Ken's apartment, which is where I was when the earthquake hit. I had flushed the toilet and thought the pipes were old, but then the glass on the shower doors started shaking. I opened the door and stood in the doorway. I'm so proud that I actually did the right thing.
Today is my mom's birthday! yeaaay! I called her and wished her a happy birthday. These flowers were heart shaped so I thought it was appropriate.

I volunteered this morning with Project Angel Food. I chopped celery & onions while getting a mini facial. The kitchen can be steamy! I was also stationed at the chicken breast for the packaging of food. Time flies at PAF. Volunteer time is 4.5 hours, but it goes by in a flash.The Project Angel Food mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men,If you want to get involved with Project Angel Food, you can donate your time or your money. If you want to volunteer you have to attend an orientation meeting. It's short and informative.

illnesses. Project Angel Food delivers free meals prepared with love.

Tim & Mark officially adopted Kristy and Steven today, and I was so honored to be invited to the courtroom proceedings.It was a chilly morning, but the overcasting clouds provided the right light to photograph. We arrived early to the Children's Court House in Monterey Park, CA, at 8:15am. In a large waiting room, we chatted with Tim & Mark's friends and family. Grandma and Grandpa were on hand, as well as, various aunties and uncles for the ceremony.
Steven pointed out two roof drains to a room full of architects and asked, "what are those two things?" We laughed and said, "you may want to rethink that question? Do you want the long version or the short version?" Kristy was fighting a cough while dealing with getting her molars, but she handled it well.
As soon as we caught up with our lives, we were called into the courtroom. We listened to the judge as he awarded all rights to these two beautiful children to Tim and Mark. There was not a dry eye in the room. We posed for pictures and then had a wonderful lunch at Luminaria's Restuarant.
Congratulations Tim, Mark, Kristy & Steven!! this also means Auntie Prue is available for babysitting. :) (no fingerprints required)
I started shredding my business cards, and it didn't start out as anything directed at my former employers. It served as a personal protection from identity theft. From my recent encounter with this, I have become more cautious with discarding documents with any personal information.After the first few ran through the shredder I found my self finding it very therapeutic, which was pleasantly surprising.
Spent the day down in Laguna Niguel and Dana Point, basically The O.C. I found out that I love the Wii Fit, so hilarious to watch people play soccer. haha I don't think I could ever live in the O.C, but I do love visiting. It's definitely a staycation getaway. I felt like I was on vacation, so I enjoyed a Pina Colada at the harbour. Happy Bunny Day!
There are times in our lives that we would rather not want to remember, but how can you appreciate the good times without a reminder of the bad. This will be my reminder.LET'S CELEBRATE!!! Celebrate Good Times, Come on!! It's a Celebration!!
