day 208: Denver Art Museum

Shan gave me the rock star tour of Denver. I haven't been to Denver in over 10 years. It's much more spread out than I remember. Perhaps, because of living in Los Angeles for 8 years, I have become accustomed to the density.

There were two buildings I wanted to see: Denver Art Museum (designed by Daniel Liebeskind) and Mile High Stadium (home of the Denver Broncos). W00t! An open invitation to be berated by my colleagues ensues with this next statement: I'm not entirely sold on the Denver Art Museum. Buildings like this will come to signify the over abundance & over spending of the 2000s in their flashy use of materials and form-driven design intent. What one can take away from it is the use of materials and connections. It allows itself to be photographed beautifully as a sexy object.
